An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard; I could tell
from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was
well taken care of.
He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head;
he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the
hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.
The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: 'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'

Too funny!! And what a great picture!
Thats great!
Hi Kara - That was too cute. I have this cat that keeps coming to visit me too, I wonder if it lives in a similar home?
Pretty cool story
Thanks for giving me a chuckle, smart dog!
LOL -- thanks ---that made my day! What a good dog that is.
This is terrific! Thanks for the story...and pets are just amazing, aren't they? Please post another note to invite the owner 'cause it looks like they need a nap, too. ;)
Adorable story! Thanks.
Kara, great post! I love dogs, they are so honest and let you know right up front what they want. Thanks for the laugh! That reminds me of my last dog Shadow, a Shepard-Husky mix. I undertook the task of remodeling our basement bathroom in our first house (20 years ago). I would work on it on the weekends (pre-real estate license). I had been working on it the better part of the day and I felt that it was getting close to Miller Time (time for a beer), so I wrote a note that said "I need a beer" and put it under the dogs collar and sent her to see my wife upstairs. I knew the dog had found her when I heard the laughter from upstairs, and was soon rewarded with an ice cold beer. Cheers!
Good story, it made me smile.
