I was out and about quite early this morning. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing come up on me in my rear view mirror. Yes, it was early - and ok - I was a little tired....but I knew I was awake....and this just seemed like I should be dreaming.
As most of you know, my camera is never far. I snapped this shot while driving...... do you see what is behind me?
I pulled over to take this pic - - and then I caught up to him at the red light. I asked the driver where he was taking the elephant......and the answer..... 'to church'. Well, duh - - where else would an elephant be headed on Sunday morning, lol.

I'm glad I had my camera...the story just wouldn't have been the same without the proof, haha.
At first glance, I thought it was a real Elephant. Wow!
Hi Kara - It must have really been a surprise to see that coming up in your rearview mirror! Maybe this morning's sermon was about how to deal with the elephant in the room?
That's pretty funny! I'm glad you were able to catch the photo. Also, if you had a flip video you could capture it on your video camera! Just a thought!
WOW when pigs fly right. Oh my mistake that was a pachyderm I think.
And I thought a bear running out in front of my truch was shocking!
Happy Selling,

it really was a shock, John - I had to do a double look! I'm sure the sermon was an attention getter, none-the-less
haha., too funny John - pigs flyin is another story here in aiken, lol.
I just got a new phone...not sure all the gadgets yet - but great idea, Tracy.
Wow - a bear would be pretty shocking, Marti!
Sure yea there was an elephant on its way to church. Can't you come up with a better excuse as to why you didn't do your homework?
Lmao. too funny, Cindy!
As usual another great local color post.
if it was out of focus and pink, we would have thought something else
hahaha. good thing it wasn't pink, lol. very funny, Spencer. Thanks for stopping by :)
Looks like the GOP is gettin' down with GOD! Or else Aiken's organic farmers have found a more faithful source of fertilizer.
Elephant Polo, anyone?
hmmm???... GOP down with GOD... very interesting twist there, Uncle Sam!
Elephant Polo - too funny, haha. thanks for stopping by mr/ms. anonymous!

Okay! Now I'm a believer!
Kara I forgot to ask if you went to church with the elephant? I hope it wasn't one of them "holy rollers". I can hear the preacher saying "everyone rollover but the elephant"
yaaay----we made a believer out of Gene!! holy roller, haha. very funny :)
Can you imagine the size of the bag of peanuts on the next truck???
HAHA!!! So why do you need an elephant at church??? So do they have him sit on you if you have sinned too much last week???
haha - here in the south - those would be BOILED PEANUTS. (not my fav, lol)
and Earleene, - I have no idea why they needed an elephant at church - but your idea sounds like a good enough reason, lmao.
have a great day y'all
At least this wasn't on a Saturday night after a drink or two! lol!
haha - I've heard about those pink elephants...but have never experienced it first hand, lol. Thanks for stopping by, Keith :)
funny.....having the camera ready at all times gives us gifts we need a picture to prove......like an elephant following behind you on its way to church LOL :)
Thanks for the comment on my blog. Can't wait for the season to start!
Great Photo, I need to start carrying my camera.
yes Kathy, it sure does, lol - check back to see what else I had to 'prove', haha. :)
omg - me too, Andy, me too! thanks :)
Kara,
That is hilarious!! I don't think anyone would have believed you had you not had a photo. LOL
I think you are right, Brigita! PS:at one time I lived in Pike Co, PA :)
you are getting pretty popular, look at all the responses!
now if you only put YOUR photo instead of the fountain!!!
if only.
Kara,
I guess the elephant got tired of being in the refrigerator (if you know that joke) and needed a change of scenery.
Steve
I don't know that joke, Steve......do tell!
Kara, now that would get your attention! At least it wasn't a pink elephant. Going to church? That's not a place you generally see elephants.......
yes, Debbie - it certainly DID!! get my attention, that is, haha. have a great day! :)
