I bought a lottery ticket Wednesday night and I still haven't checked to see if it's a winner. I don't buy that many - and this was just a spur of the moment thing. Chatting with the owner and the cashier, discussing what was going on with the lending right now. I said something like ‘they are making it harder for people to buy houses ---- you almost have to win the lottery...' then I asked ‘is there a drawing tonight?' Vic said ‘yes, powerball. It draws at 11'.

I filled out a card - played 2 games actually! I totally forgot all about checking it yesterday - all day. I was having dinner with a friend last night and my palm started to itch : ) we know what that means!!
Now, before I check the numbers I am trying to decide which house will I buy, lol. Jane Page has so many beautiful listings. Everyone I see if my favorite - really. I love living in Downtown Aiken, so there are a few options for me.
Do I choose The Academy - new construction with historic charm. 3 bedroom, 2 full baths, 2 half baths,....Great horse property in Aiken's Historic District. I love everything about this house! Open, light, airy, just feels like home :) Listed at $3,880.000.

Do I choose this historic arts & crafts bungalow known as Whispering Pines? OVer 100 years old, 4 bedroom, 2 bath with guest cottage. I love the craftsman style and the downtown location of this one! Listed at 968,400.

And what about Sandhurst Estate. Over 100 years old. 11 bedrooms w/ 10 fireplaces and 10.5 bathrooms, and a barn for the horses. I love this house. The history of this property just fascinates me. Listed at $3,390.000.
And then there is this 3 bedroom brick ranch on Summerall Court. It is being sold COMPLETELY FURNISHED!! Not quite 'downtown'..but only a few short blocks away :) Listed at $354,000 includes the furniture.

Guess I better check that ticket now! I'll let you know which one I decide to buy. Maybe I will just buy all of them :)
Have a great day.
Be sure to give us a call if you are interested in any of these properties... or any other Aiken area property. We are glad to help.

It is great to dream Kara. Good luck I hope you will still talk to us after your big win!
Good luck Kara~ I hope you win! I like all the houses and if you need help choosing which one after you do win the lottery~ call me!
Deb.. I love the Sandhurst Estate.. if it has an elevator. Otherwise I'll take the Summerall Court. I have bad knees and stairs are hard. Hey, with all that money, I can install an elevator myself if it doesn't have one.. I'll just make sure it blends with the home, and adds charm. With all that money anything is possible.
WELL???? Did you win?
WOW! Win the lottery and buy them all! You could give me one as a Christmas gift! LOL:)
Ok - so I just came home from seeing the fireworks at the Polo America event and remembered I hadn't checked my ticket yet. Sooooo...... guess it is an easy decision afterall. I didn't win :( Oh well, doesn't hurt to dream, right!
Jane Page - the one I would give to you is a brick Georgian (I think)....but of course I would have to buy the land next to it to protect the view for you :) and thanks for the reminder...I didn't forget about your Christmas gift, really I didn't, geez.
Hey Valerie - no elevator in Sandhurst, and with three floors and bad knees you would definitely need one. I'm sure you could find a way to install one and have it look like it was there the whole time :)
Paddy are you kidding? - - I'll be calling y'all from the limo saying - 'hey - guess who's in jersey?' hahaha.
Thanks Terrie - I wish I could take you up on your offer :) Thanks for wanting to help, lol.
Good luck with the lottery. I've never bought a lottery ticket, unless you consider sporting events a lottery. If that's the case, then I'm quite often buying losing tickets. LOL
THanks Russel - - - but I didn't win :( You need to start rooting for the other team, then you will have winning tickets, haha. Are you a Chargers fan?
Have a great weekend :)
What a wonderful dream! I'm sorry you didn't win, but you can't win if you don't play and it takes only one ticket to win.
That is exactly right Leolinda! You gotta be in it - to win it, lol. Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)
