Mark your calendars - St. Mary's 20th Annual Chocolate Festival is this coming weekend :) 10/4 to be exact!
So much fun for all! So much chocolate :)

Silent Auction - Carnival games - Inflatables - Gourmet Cafe - International Foods - Used Books and media - Bake Sale - Frozen Casserole Sale - Vendors - Blood Drive - Entertainment - Plant Sale
Indoor and outdoor activities !!
AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE CHOCOLATE!!!! :)

The Chocolate Festival is the largest fundraiser of the year for St. Mary's. Thanks to the many generous donors, the festival is able to remain affordable for families to enjoy while raising the funds necessary to support the school :) Come on down and show your support...and enjoy some delicious chocolate!

And don't forget about our four legged friends! (not horses this time, lol) The St. Mary's Chocolate festival works with the Aiken SPCA and sponsor a pet food drive as part of the Chocolate Festival. The SPCA will also bring adoptable animals to the festival. You may just find your next pet here :)

AND......TAKE A HORSE AND CARRIAGE RIDE THROUGH OUR HISTORIC DOWNTOWN (to support St.Mary's) !

Lucky for St. Mary's - the average American eats 11 pounds of chocolate a year!! (The Swiss have us beat...averaging 22 pounds each per year...wow!!) Last year St. Mary's cleared $50k from this event!! Not too shabby :) Come on out and enjoy some chocolate!
See you there :) Festivities start at 9am. (this is an all-day event!!!) 138 Fairfield St - Downtown Aiken
Read more about it in the Autumn 2008 issue of Sandlapper Magazine
Give me a call for your Aiken real estate needs! (and be sure to let me know you saw my blog)

Oh MY GOD! Chocolate, I love chocolate. I'd write about what a great post this is, but I'm going to the kitchen and get some Chocolate.
Chocolate is a favorite temptation and guilt of most everyone. I like chocolate with nuts.
Richard
Yummy, Yummy in my tummy, tummy- The bake sale is the very best-the buckeyes and shortbread rock!
ooooooo- I can't wait for the buckeyes, they are MY FAVORITE!!!! yeahhh!! I'll see you there Jane Page :)
Gabe - Richard - I LOVE CHOCOLATE TOO :) I can't wait for Saturday!!
I just have to remember to take some of it home and freeze it and enjoy it in moderation. And take the rest to the office and share!
Kara,
How can you torture us with a post like this - all that tempting chocolate? :)
Steve
You still have time to book a flight and join us Steve!!
I want one of those here!!! What a great idea. I think I will try to "sell it" to one of the organizations I belong to. Enjoy!!!
Kara.. My mouth is watering just looking at the chocolate. Care to send a carepackage this way? LOL.
Kara, this should be illegal or something like that. Your post has made me hungry now.
hmmm.... how to send chocolate to CT without it melting....hmmmm??? I'll have to think about that Valerie!
Sorry Danny! I think chocolate is a universal LOVE for many people :) No wonder this fundraiser is the major one for St Marys. (they cleared $50k last year!)
Hi Paddy - good luck with the suggestion! I don't think you will have a problem 'selling' the idea! who could resist chocolate? hahaha. Have a good night :)
OMG!!! I had no idea! Thank you so much for this post. I am going to get my girlfriends together for a much needed road trip..and who in their right mind would say no to chocolate!?!?!?
Kara, that is what is scary. A candy store making that much. I need one.
Yaaay Cherimie!!! I'll see you there :) Drive safe!
I'll do my best to save some Suzi.... I have a definite weakness when it comes to chocolate, lol
hahah, I hear ya Danny, haha. You better get your mind off chocolate and on football, your fantasy team is starting off as bad as my Rams!!
Oooohh, Kara - that would be a disaster for me! At the St Petersburg Yacht Club, for the annual Commodore's Ball, they set up an entire Dessert Room filled with chocolate. When we go upstairs for dinner after all the hors d'oeuvres, I go straight to the dessert room for chocolate. Who has room for dinner?
Life is too short - eat dessert first!!!! Sounds good to me Sharon :)
Kara, you have such fun events in your town! That Kiss Mobile is Way Cool!
We do know how to party here Lisa! We Aikenites love to have fun :) I'll be taking some pictures for y'all on Saturday. Have a great day
This may have been the location for one of the most misunderstood question and answer sequences:
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I drive the Kissmobile.
haha good one Chuck. here is the answer back to the answerer from the original questioner: 'oh- is that what they are calling it these days, lol - must be a pretty sweet deal, lol' !!
oh - and the kissmobile didn't make it :( maybe next year!
Kara-
mmmmm, Chocolate festival! Now we are talking
Oh yes - and it was a lot of fun, too Bryant! check the other blog under my tag 'chocolate' to see pics from the event :)
