They are a common sight in this little horse town. Carriage Drivers that is! And Saturday was no different. The Aiken Driving Club had a parade on Saturday, and as you watch the carriages go by you can't help but be reminded of the way it once was.

Come for a visit - you might just end up moving here! And I'm happy to help you find a house when you do :)

Kara, these are some awesome pictures. I am so glad that you shared them.
Kara - Great pictorial of what looks like a wonderful event. The weather looked perfect and you did a nice job sharing it with your fellow Rainers.
Sorry I missed this one. Did they come down Colleton?
thanks guys - it was a beautiful day here in Aiken - and I'm happy to share :)
and yes Gene - they did come down Colleton on their way back to the polo field.
How charming, Kara. It's so nice to keep up with the past. Nice pics of the event!
thanks Marie, it was a beautiful day to enjoy the carriage parade. I wish I could have been riding on one of them :)
Kara.. This is so charming to see. When I was in NYC once I had a "handsome" carriage ride. Can you imagine having a ride in one of these during he winter when it snows? I know that probably won't happen in SC, but one can dream.
What fun! I miss having horses around. Some great photos, Kara! Thanks for sharing ;}
Hi Valerie - that would be so cool! (not to mention romantic, lol)
Hey Laura - thanks. Never a dull moment in our little horse town :)
Have a great weekend Ladies!
Now that's a good parade. That yellow tree is beautiful, too. I can't tell what it is from the picture, though.
What fun!
Great photos!
Hi Russel - I hope you're not asking me, lol. (you know how I am with trees!) Hopefully I'll learn the different types now that I am doing the arboretum tour :)
Hi Cynthia - thanks. I can't take all the credit - the subject matter makes it easy to get a good pic, lol
Hey Angelica- it was a spot of delight in the middle of the afternoon :)
